An Antique Porcelain Wall Pocket.
A porcelain wall pocket in majolica colours by J. Richards, Milan, c1870.
J Richards moved to Milan and set up a factory producing fine porcelain. This unusual combination of English majolica colours on porcelain has succeeded in a finely moulded piece where a small bird with a pink breast sits atop a basket against a background of reeds. The famous jR monogram is on the reverse. Some slight damage to a couple of the flower heads but otherwise in excellent condition. Height: 250mm (9.75 inches)
