The metal has a bluish tinge with aventurine technique of blown gilding applied to the underside with radial bands concentrated in an artistic style. Rough pontil to centre of foot.
Likely to be 18th or 19th century rather than earlier but a superb example of the Venetian craft. Probably Murano or Italy. Diameter. 207mm. (8.15 inches)
